Gloria Rolando is an Emmy-nominated documentarian celebrated for her compelling storytelling that centers the African Diaspora. Over her prolific career, Rolando has produced dozens of films, including the groundbreaking Eyes of the Rainbow, one of the few documentaries chronicling the life of Assata Shakur and her experiences in asylum in Cuba.
Her latest work, Sisters of the Heart, delves into the historical and cultural connection between Havana and Baltimore, highlighting educational initiatives led by the Oblate Sisters of Providence, founded by Mother Mary Lange—the first Black Catholic order of nuns in the United States.
